Dr. Valerie Kanter is a Board Certified Endodontist, professor at the UCLA, and a practicing Integrative and Regenerative Endodontist in Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry with her D.M.D. and M.S. degree and later became a Naturopath through the American College of Integrative Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Kanter lectures internationally on the subject of laser in endodontics and is the US Educator for Fotona PHAST Start training.

In this full-day seminar you will learn:

  • When and how to use the Fotona Lightwalker Laser and PRF for Regenerative Endodontic treatments.
  • How to improve clinical success in Endodontics by maximizing the efficacy of PIPS/SWEEPS in your hands.
  • Treatment indications and step by step guides for Vital Pulp Therapy such as indirect & direct pulp caps, & pulpotomy procedures, and revascularization, including EndOzlase

This seminar will provide an introduction to Integrative and Regenerative Endodontics, and review the role of the Fotona Lightwalker laser and PRF (platelet rich fibrin) in many aspects of clinical endodontics.

The Er:YAG laser, with the wavelength of 2940nm, is ideal for removing deep caries while preserving tooth integrity and thoroughly disinfecting underlying structures of the pulp-dentin complex. When used in combination with PRF and ideal biomaterials, the Lightwalker laser can create the perfect synergy needed to maintain pulp vitality while performing deep caries removal.

We will also spend time diving deep into the importance of advanced irrigation in Endodontics with SWEEPS, Shockwave Enhanced Emission Photoacoustic Streaming, which enhances our ability to three-dimensionally dissolve organic tissue, eliminate irritants & remove smear layer from the root canal system. As we continue to gain insight on the connection between root canal infections and systemic inflammation, we can begin to appreciate how critical it is to keep up with the evolution of technology in the field of endodontics and make the choices that will allow us to provide the most effective and safe treatments for our patients.
